The Mission Fit Quiz
Could This Be For You?
Thinking about a financial services career change in Canada? Take this two-minute, honest quiz about becoming a financial advisor in Ontario and working in financial services. Ask me anything about how it works, then tell me a bit about you. There are no wrong answers here. No pressure, no promises, ever.
Could this work be a fit for you?
It could be, if you like people, honest conversations, and work that teaches before it ever sells. This practice is education first: no pressure tactics, no promises about income, and training that helps you find your own style. The chat above asks a few quick questions so you can judge the fit yourself.
Let us figure this out together
I answer your questions first, straight up. Then I ask a few quick ones so the team gets to know you a little. About two minutes. You can stop anytime.

Pick your info session
This is the real thing, live. About 40 minutes, online, free. Sean lays the whole thing out in the open, including the hard parts. Cameras are optional, and nobody gets called on.
You’re in!
Watch your email for the session link, it is on its way. Sean and Jason will have your brief before the session, so you will not be starting cold. Looking forward to it.
Straight answers, before you ask
The questions everyone asks. Answered the way Sean would answer them, honestly.
Do I need a finance background to become a financial advisor in Ontario?
No. You need a provincial licence, and Sean walks you through the whole process: what to study, how the exams work, all of it. Most people are surprised how doable it is. What matters far more than a finance background is that you genuinely like helping people.
How much does it cost to get started?
Getting licensed costs roughly $800. Think of it as a commitment to yourself rather than an expense. There is no big franchise fee and no inventory to buy.
Can I do this part time while keeping my current job?
Yes. Plenty of people start part time, evenings and weekends around their current job, and grow from there. Others go full time. It is your call, and it can change as your life changes.
How does the pay work? Will you promise me an income number?
Everyone is paid commission, so your income follows your effort. I will never promise you a number, and you should be sceptical of anyone who does. What I can tell you is the model is simple and the ceiling is high: help more families, earn more. Some people build a solid side income, others make it their whole career. It depends on you, and I would rather be honest about that.
What happens at an info session?
About 40 minutes, live online, and free. Sean lays the whole thing out in the open: how the work works, how licensing works, how the pay works, including the hard parts. You can ask anything, and there is zero pressure to decide anything on the spot.
What does a real week actually look like?
A mix of learning, a few family conversations (often evenings, when families are free), kind follow ups, and planning with Sean. Part timers fit it in blocks around a job. Full timers build a steadier rhythm of conversations each week. No two weeks look identical, which a lot of people end up loving.
Can I explore this without committing to anything?
Yes, and that is exactly what this quiz and the info sessions are for. Ask every question you have, take your time, and walk away anytime. Nothing is sent anywhere until you choose to save a seat, and even then it is just a seat at a free session.

What the work actually is
Helping Canadian families understand their money: insurance, investing, and programs like the RDSP, explained in plain English. The days are conversations, learning, and follow-up, mostly by phone and video across Ontario.
Who it suits
People who listen well, explain patiently, and want their work to matter. Many start part time alongside a job while they learn. A finance background is not required; honesty and consistency are.
Common misunderstandings
That it is about selling. Around here it is about teaching first. That income is promised. It is not, and the quiz's own questions say so plainly. And that you have to decide today. You do not.
