Aurora is where established families land: tree-lined streets, strong schools, and parents thinking seriously about RESPs, estate plans, and what comes next. Comfortable today is not the same as prepared for tomorrow. I work with Aurora families virtually, with honest, unhurried guidance.
Serving Aurora and the York Region by phone and video.
Aurora is York Region's established address: the historic Yonge Street core, tree lined streets of long owned homes, the GO station carrying professionals downtown, schools that anchor family decisions, and equestrian properties rolling out toward the Oak Ridges Moraine at the edges. St. Andrew's College has schooled generations here, and the town's households skew toward professionals, executives, and business owners in the consolidation years: incomes strong, kids in or nearing university, parents aging in nearby towns, and a financial life accumulated in layers across twenty years of decisions made one at a time.
Consolidation is the Aurora conversation. Layers of accounts, two employers' benefits packages, insurance bought for a young family's risks and never re-read, and an estate plan that predates the grandchildren: assembling them into one understood structure is worth more than any single product decision. The next stage questions dominate here. University funding done deliberately rather than desperately. Helping adult children toward first homes without quietly endangering the parents' own security, which is the generous mistake I am most often hired to prevent. And planning for the parents' parents, whose care increasingly becomes part of this generation's budget and calendar.
For Aurora families whose child has a disability, the long horizon is the whole story, and it is this practice's specialty: the RDSP building across decades, the DTC kept current, and trusts arranged so a lifetime of care survives the parents. I serve Aurora by phone and video, unhurried and in plain English, and a first conversation, always free, is the right place to assemble the full picture.
A broker works for you, not for one insurance company. That means choice across insurers, advice shaped around your life instead of a product shelf, and someone in your corner at claim time, when it matters most. Read the full broker vs agent breakdown.
Step one: book a free conversation below. Thirty minutes, zero pressure. Step two: we talk through your situation in plain English until you actually understand your options. Step three: you decide, with facts instead of salesmanship.
By deciding the number your own plan can spare before deciding the number she needs, and by putting the gift's terms in writing so siblings, spouses, and future surprises are all handled kindly in advance. Aurora parents make this gift often and regret it rarely, when it is structured. We structure yours in a free first conversation, with your retirement protected first.
Possibly, and possibly it is an expensive answer to a question you no longer have. Coverage should be re-read at every life stage: what it protects, what it costs, and whether the estate or tax picture gives it a second job in retirement. I review existing policies without a sales agenda, and if yours are already right, you will hear that plainly.
They are partners. The RDSP builds savings with government help during your child's life, and a Henson trust in your will receives their inheritance without disrupting the provincial benefits the DTC side supports. Aurora families planning across generations deserve both explained together, slowly, which is exactly how we will do it.
Most conversations happen by phone or video, which is how I serve families across Canada. In-person meetings can be arranged when I am in the area.
