About Me
At the core of my writing and speaking on resilience is a deeply personal journey that began when life handed me a challenge I never saw coming—I lost my ability to walk at 26 years old. Up until that point, being active was my identity. I share routines and exercises that helped me—like daily problem-solving and self-reflection—because I believe anyone can strengthen their resilience muscle, no matter what life throws at them. Ultimately, my values are rooted in honesty, perseverance, and compassion. I want my story to remind others that even when life feels overwhelming, there’s always a way forward. You don’t have to face challenges alone, and every step—no matter how small—matters.

My Journey to Resilience
Carleton Place isn’t just where I live—it’s the heart of my recovery and the foundation of my personal growth journey. The broader Carleton Place community also played a huge role. Whether it was a neighbor checking in, a local business offering a helping hand, or simply the feeling of being part of something bigger than myself, I felt supported at every turn. That sense of unity and shared strength is a cornerstone of my message in “One More Step.” My experiences here taught me that asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s an invitation for others to show up and share in your journey.
